The lavender fields
On the Valensole plateau and in the Luberon, purple fields in bloom from late June to early August make up one of France's most photographed landscapes.

Provence stands out for the richness of its landscapes, from lavender fields and olive groves to perched limestone villages, as well as a Mediterranean light that shaped the history of painting. The region combines ancient and papal heritage, Mediterranean cuisine built around olive oil and aromatic herbs, and a way of life admired internationally.
